Ok so this is my very first blog posting ever. I have never been a blogger really, I read a lot of them but just have not ever sat down and started my own. Well, I feel its time for that to change. I have just graduated from the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of California San Diego with a degree in Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry. I am very excited to get out into the world as a chef and see what kind of adventures the wonderful world of food has to offer me. I am an…

On February 26th, google released a new algorithm update to wipe out garbage content on the internet. While this is great news if you invest the time creating unique content on your site, if your site contains recipes, you're still out of luck.
In step with this new algorithm update, Google released Google recipes. So, now when you search for a recipe in this tab, the results are dominated by allrecipes.com and other big corporate websites. Quite frankly, I don't know why…

Hello Everyone,
I've been experiencing some amazing adventures these past months with learning to make a pretty decent MMF that my family and friends like to eat. Also, I've also, been dabbling at making gum paste from scratch to make sugar flowers. Mainly the sugar flowers I've been making, were from fondant mixed with Wilton gumtex. Wow, a whole new world. Most the cakes in my profile were mainly BC or RI. I'm so happy to have an audience who are willing to try fondant and let me…

Being new to the cake decorating community, I'm sure I'm just a bit over zealous, but I can't help it. I can hardly wait to get my hands in the middle of another project. I have several upcoming projects, but nothing for the next two weeks, so I decided to do some "organizing" of these upcoming events.
I've created drawings for all the cakes I know I have coming through June 2011. I've also started on the gum paste flowers (about 50 of them) for a cake I have in just 3 weeks. I am a…

Have you ever had a project that seemed to grow the closer you got to the due date? That seems to be happening to my project for this week.
It started out a couple of weeks ago as 2-two tier cakes and buttercream (someone else is doing the decorating). It then went to 1-three tier cake, buttercream and 48 cupcakes. Now, it's 1-three tier cake, 2-two tier cakes, buttercream, 24 cupcakes, and a batch of fondant.
Don't get me wrong. I'm…
