Ok galidink

Go to Youtube type in: donnalane626   type in: How to Wire a spray of gumpaste flowers

I joined mycakeschool.com for $30 for a whole year. I looked into Donna Lane, as she has same thing,  only she charges $20 per MONTH. But donnalane626 youtube channel is a excellent source of cake info.

Just made poinsettias this wknd from tutorial on mycakeschool. Now have to back & look again for how to tape & arrange. Know most important is taping the wires tightly together so you can move/adjust flowers how you want.

Hope this helps.

Hey Art Deco! I'm going to throw something out here. I wonder if your centers (the part actually connecting the gumpaste to the wire) is not completely dry inside, so when you go to manipulate the wires, they come loose?

Whenever I do roses, I curl the wire into a tight little loop at the top. Then I dip that loop into my gumglue (which I mix up thick, so it's more the consistency of piping gel instead of runny), shake off the excess from my wire loop then insert into my rose center. I give it a small quarter turn once it's inside the center, and gently push it inward around the base where the wire is sticking out. Then I stick all those wires with the center into a piece of styrofoam and let them dry a full 24 hours in a really dry space.  I'm not sure what gauge my wire is - unfortunately I don't have that part of the packaging left on my bag of them!

But, it looks about the gauge of jumbo sized paper clips. I use the heavier wire for bigger, heavier roses. I have done smaller roses on smaller gauged wire and that worked okay.

Also, when wrapping your flowers, perhaps use your needle nose pliers to bend the wires as you position the flowers.  It will make for less stress on the flower itself when moving it around.

I hope that helps and makes some sense. :0) Let us know if you're still having trouble!

P.S. - so I guess to solve your immediate problem - if you can wait to wrap the flowers maybe give them another day to dry all the way to the center.
