I use store bought fondant, and have always got the Dr Oetker White Icing, and then colour it myself (getting an airbrush for b'day to help with this)! However it always seems to be really sticky. I…Continue

I've spent the last three days making roses for my brother's wedding cake which I start making tomorrow. I now have 80 of them and no more materials to make any more but I have a horrible feeling that there won't be enough. Also I'm not very happy with them but I'm hoping that once they're all bunched up together they won't look so bad. This'll be my first three tier cake and my first time using dowels so no pressure! I'm now enjoying one last night of rational thought before complete panic sets in!!

Hi Lilly, you can do it! a good nights sleep is all you need and tomorrow those roses will bunch up and look great.
Enjoy your btothers wedding .........and enjoy the compliments you recieve about your cake.
Looking forward to seeing a photo.

Hi Guys, just continuing the tedious thing with cake making - I hate making buttercream filling. The icing sugar goes all over my kitchen and drives me crazy!!! It is such a messy process, but you simply cannot get the same taste from a store bought buttercream, they taste far too synthetic in my opinion. Does anyone think otherwise? or is there one that does actually taste pretty good that I haven't tried yet?

Someone contacted me on my other site and wants to order a cake. Does anyone live near Reading?

I actually have someone else who wants a price on a cake with pigeons (she didn't specify size) and she's in Midlands. Geography is not my forte, so raise your hand if you're interested.
