This morning I've taken back 4 boxes of Silver spoon icing sugar!!!!!!! why??????

I really can't work with it!!!! it's really gritty in my royal icing and buttercream and I make my own fondant too and that is almost like working with a different product. horrible, horrible icing sugar. I don't know if they have changed the manufacturing process.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced the same.

Hi Ann, I've had the same problem with silver spoon and I switched to Tate & Lyle. T/L requires lots of sifting which I am ok with so when I get stranded with SS, I sift like 5 times before I use. But will always prefer T/L.

I always use Tate & Lyle with icing sugar and I do sift it.  I did recently buy some royal icing sugar which is silver spoon and it seems fine.  Having read this, I won't be getting SS normal icing sugar in the future that's for sure.
