well you know... i do not have a shop.. but yes i do make them... and i am compensated most of the time! :) i have a local kitchen i can use if needed that is a licensed approved facility. I am making my first actual wedding cake on June 5 for our music leader at church. i am very nervous and excited all together. I know where that shop is located in Sugar land.. but right now no funds to take their course.. i am sure it is good... according to the fee they charge! but i live at least 45 to 1 hour away from sugar land.. i am about 40 miles north of Houston.. Well off to the supply store.. have you been to Amazin cake supply off of Bissonet? i think they just moved to Bellaire Blvd this month? It is a long drive and would really like to know if it would be worth driving over there. THanks

Hi Erica! thanks for the compliment! I love your cakes too! Did you make your figures out of fondant? I have been wanting to try some figurines and people and things! I also get a lot of ideas from watching cake shows (Ace of Cakes, Cake Boss and challenges) Watch and learn is what I try to do! Have fun! Hope we can continue to share ideas :)

Hi Erica, thanks for your request and your kind comment about my work, I sent a Crown to Texas last year............... I send crowns all over the world which is great!
What do you think about toppers in general? do you use ? make your own?
I seem to be the only dedicated topper maker on thi site?

I've done most of my cakes for family as well. No, I haven't taken any classes, self taught using online resources. I've only been doing cakes for 4 months, so I have a lot to learn. I'm sure I am doing a whole lot of skills way backwards, but I can't see spending $100 or more right now on classes. I would, however, like to take a sugar flower class!

Hi Erica, thanks for your nice compliment. I get my ideas from looking at cake galleries and I usually combine a couple cakes that I like into one. I like a more simplistic approach. How long have you been decorating cakes?
