HELLO EVERYONE!

Good Morning everyone! I have been lingering on here for the past week or so, but I haven't introduced myself yet, so I'll take the time now on this rainy Friday morning!

I am a stay at home mom of two little girls, Ashlyn, age 5, and Makenna, who will be the big one on April 30th! They are my life! I also have a wonderful husband of almost 8 years. In my spare time, I like to travel, scrapbook, eat (lol), and now cakes!! :) We live in Northeast Ohio, it's a love/hate relationship. The… Continue

Carey,
Thanks for the add. I have been decorating almost a year from now, but it has taken me alot to learn what I know. :) Right now I only decorate for my family.Once again, you really have a talent, did you take any classes?

OMG! White Flower....!!!!! What an inspiring place. From what I heard, they only decorate the cakes, they buy the cakes from a bakery. I live in Austintown, near Youngstown. We were just up in Beachwood yesterday. I haven't taken any cake decorating classes yet. I did do the intensive baking class at Sur La Table on Chagrin and took a 4 day chocolate class at Western Reserve School of Cooking in Hudson. I would like to go professional at some point, trying to learn how to bake properly and find some excellent recipes that are saleable. Right now, it's work for free and hone my skills...between all the family in town, there are 10 kids and plenty of adult birthdays coming up. Hence, all the kid cakes. I have to do a Steelers cake for my BIL this week, his party is on Friday. My sinuses have been messed up for the last three weeks. EKE! I'm soooo tired of it. At least spring is almost here. Your cakes are wonderful. I've found a hobby that I really enjoy, finally. I started doing a scrapbook cookbook a couple of years ago. Right now, I have a million recipes and no time to put them down on paper properly. Eventually, I guess.

I love your cakes!! They are beautiful. I just started decorating this year, too. And, like you, am finding any reason to make them. We're all sick of cakes at this point, in fact, the Easter cake is still sitting in the middle of my table - it hasn't been touched, but it sure was fun to make. Like you, I'm a mother (3 yr old, 4 yr, and 6 yr), live in NE Ohio and finally found a creative outlet. The Viking Store up in Cleveland offers a gum paste flower class at the end of May I think. I really wanted to take it, but it interferes with the one Sunday I have to work a month. The Western Reserve School of Cooking in Hudson had Martha Stewart's head decorator there for a class earlier in the year, but I missed it.
