Pastillage Oscar's Recipe

4 cups powdered sugar 10x

7gms knox gelatine

4 Tablespoons cold water

1 teaspoon cream of tartar

1 Tablespoon white cane vinegar

starch for dusting.

bloom gelatine in cold water 10 mins

place on a double boiler

add to 2 cups powdered sugar + cream of tartar and add vinegar

use hook attachment but i prefer mine hand mixed

add the remaining sugar until you achieve the right texture. knead the dough well until its pliable. dust with starch once in a while

NOTE: this is a quick dry pastillage recipe you can make a cake stand out of this.

Thankyou for your lovely comments on my castle cake, i loved decorating that one as it was for my grandaughters 4th Birthday. 

I didnt use any moulds on it... i just made my own templates. and the roof tiles are just cut out hearts put on upside down xxx

Hi, Mandy, No we do not have any outlets in SA. We do ship there however. We were supposed to be attending the SA Sugar Guild's show in March to teach classes, but unfortunately the show was cancelled until a later date.
