Has anyone made a cake that is in the shape of a high heel shoe? The cake itself is a shoe, I don't need one made out of gumpaste. Also do you cover it with fondant or buttercream icing or can I do either one?
Thanks June, I too am not that good at smoothing bc, but more practice might help. I have to work this weekend so I will try to search after work or on Tuesday or wednesday when I am off.
Happy Mothers Day

The bow can be made several ways but I think the easiest way is for me is to make the loops and at the end of the loop pinch together on a tooth pic and let each one dry. When its dry you just place them together either sticking toothpick in the board or in the cake to make it look like a bow. That will make it not fall. Hope this helps.
Not sure if this will help but here is a link I watched to make a different bow that helped me.

thank you. the tooth pick is a good idea. I was thinking wire, but you can put it in your cake. So I really like the tooth pick idea :)

Hi Annie and welcome! I have been doing cakes for about 7 years now and am still learning. This is a great place because you can learn new techniques from others in a very friendly environment. It has boosted my confidence so much!
