I want to make a cake for a friend. She is a hair styler and I thought about doing hairrollers, hair dryer, comb, scissors, and maybe a tube of hair color. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about making these items? Thanks for any help
Sandy, a lot of those items can be made by making a mold of them first using the food safe mold kit from Hobby Lobby found in the section where they sell fimo or sculpey clay. It won't be enough to make the hair dryer, but you should be able to make most of those items from that clay, and if you catch the 40% off coupon from the internet before you go, it will cut down on the price of it. It usually runs about $20.00. The name of the kit is called Amazing Mold Putty. Easy to use and the molds can be used in no time at all...a matter of minutes.
Thanks Linda, There is a Hobby Lobby right across the street from where I work. I will check my work first b/c I work at A.C. Moore arts and crafts.
They have it at Michaels too.....
Thanks Diane, I'll check there too.
Can somebody please give the brand name and details so I can look for it here in Australia...
Danielle, the company is called Amazing Crafting Products and the web address is: www.moldputty.com
Thanks
I just went to moldputty.com website and BOY I can't wait to try it on Sunday. They showed using it to make seashells, I live in fla. and have all kids of different shells to make molds from, seahorse and sanddollar. Next friday it looks like I'll be going to go to Michael's to get more putty!!! I am so excited to try this. Thanks so much Linda and Diane for all the ideas and advise.
