I am so glad I am doing a practice run of my purse cake. I am following a video tutorial (using my own pattern), and that doesn't seem to be the problem. I used my chocolate cake recipe and have…Continue

I DID A VERY THIN CRUMB COAT OF BUTTERCREAM THO , LET THAT DRY AND THAN THE BETTERCREAM FROSTING ,
; )GOOD LUCK
How does it taste? I don't like the taste of walmart cakes. My customers tell me the icing is what makes the cake. I used homemade buttercream.
it taste like sweetened whip cream , just a little heavier, you can flavor or color it as you wish ,
Busiest cake weeks of the year for me! Anybody else filling tons of graduation orders?? Wow! It's crazy!!! Oh, and isn't June supposed to be wedding month?? Brides must not have gotten the memo! I have one wedding cake in June, but I have 6 wedding cakes in 6 weeks in September/October! It was the same way last year. Happy Caking!! :o)
Melanie All my family weddings for nieces/nephews were early May or Sept/Oct. Much cheaper, as much as 1/2 the normal price. The exception was my daughter's in July, but they had to be at University end of August. She wanted it outside, & April/May was too iffy for that.
Ready for this one?? This should be the busiest time of the year to, and instead I'm picking a date for rotator cuff surgery. There won't be another cake on my calendar for at least 6 months, maybe a year from now. Can't believe it.....
Well Joann
Don't get dismayed. You're a type A personality, so it's hard for you to sit still. But you have to look at the big picture. Out on the sidelines now, but gained health for the future. You want to be up, around & active long after your caking career is over. If you didn't have surgery & recovery now, you eventually would be immobile & in a considerable amount of pain & discomfort later in life. After doing homecare for 20 yrs I know whereof I speak.
Poor Joann - you must be really depressed about that, I know I would be. Chin up girl! xx
