I am so glad I am doing a practice run of my purse cake.  I am following a video tutorial (using my own pattern), and that doesn't seem to be the problem.  I used my chocolate cake recipe and have…Continue

I haven't participated in this group for awhile, or the community for that matter as I haven't done much in the way of cakes for what seems like ages.  I think I am finding my passion again and I have all of you to thank.  "listening" /reading your fun and hard work has been wonderfully inspiring.  My neighbour's daughter wants me to help her make fondant a cake tomorrow.  I think I am more excited than she is (but please nobody tell her! LOL).  I also finally have space in my craft room  to work with some gumpaste making flowers.  Who knows, I might have something to show sometime soon....if it is any good!

Thanks, Sandra.  It is good to be here.  I pop in to check out cakes but haven't posted much.   I really look forward to having something to show.  I won't be taking orders for awhile but some of my teen students are eager to learn...I need to stay ahead of them!

Hi Laurie - good to see you back.  Never mind that you haven't been caking - we all have periods like that, but you're still part of the community, regardless.

Have any if you ever tried Bettercreme pre-made buttercream? I've always made my own buttercream, but a local food pantry was given a huge unopened container of it, and I was asked if I wanted it. Just curious if anyone knew if it was good?? :)

@Melanie.  Gail uses it (artdeco cakes by galidink) and she loves it!
