Thanks, Gary. I think pigeons are gross, too.

Knightsbridge-PME organise three live competitions at the International Cake Decorating show at the NEC each November : the PME Cupcake Challenge, Student of the Year and Cake Decorator of the Year. Each competition is a live event and each finalist has to re-create their entry within a specific time frame. There are amazing prizes valued at over £2,000 and the chance to be part of one of the most popular events at the cake show. See the winners for 2010 and why not enter for 2011? Hi all, I am in California and make sugar flowers and follow English sugar artists... Recently found this cake site and so far it is great fun. Nice to meet everyone here.

Hi everyone, my name is Mandy, I am self taught and make cakes for family and friends. I really enjoy working with Sugar paste to create models and figures. Great to see some input from English cake makers, I'm in Beverley (East Yorkshire) and travel all over to find decorations. I don't buy very much on line as I prefer to give the trade to shop keepers.

Hello fellow Brits.  I am after suggestions as to the best make of black fondant.  I am going to need a fair bit of it soon and the ones I usually use (Dr. Oetker and Regalice), I have recently found to be quite sticky and don't respond well to cmc/tylose whatever.  Any other suggestions?  One of our US members said she uses Satin ice black vanilla, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere in the UK.  Found it in Canada, but shipping was £30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
