The event has to be in the L.A. area, as this is were all of the shows are filmed. If he is in that area, not really sure how the events are chosen. I'll see what I can find out. However, all of the shows for this season have already been filmed. It would be for next season, which starts being filmed in November.

Thanks for the information, Jennifer - you would know! :) That sort of throws a wrench into the whole idea then - the convention is in Atlanta, GA and is on Labor Day weekend - so even if they did do it it would be filmed NEXT year for the following season. Yikes.

Maybe you could organize your own cake off challenge..get some of the local bakers and involve the TV stations...that would be really fun! I am sure you could find some sponsors since it is for a big convention....
