Graduation Turtles atop a stack of Books

I had two graduates to celebrate with this cake, each from different schools, the tassels and "neck Jewelry" reflect what each wore during their ceremonies. The book titles reflect what fields they'll be studying in college.

Oh my....  so many lovely cakes, and spinning all  those plates???  My hats off to you Holly!!!!   Guess you will just have to "pick" the cakes you want to do.... with a generous time inbetween so you won't get burned out.!!  Would be a shame with your talent to stop caking. But you have to take care of YOURSELF & your family. Just have to learn to say NO. Taking on too many projects...ie: cakes will just fill you with stress, then where is the joy??     :o)

Love you ladies for your support.  This is my "third job" I own a ballroom dancing company, and homeschool my three children as well.. so it just seems like too much.  I am committed to three more wedding cakes at this point, so I suppose I'll re-examine after those are done.  Really enjoying the creativity that goes into these, I just either need to learn to manage my stress better or find a way to get more knowledge under my belt that won't break the bank.. or both.  Katy, I absolutely love you - wish we were closer so we could have a cup of coffee.  Hugs, H

Holly, you are not alone in your feelings.  We have all had that cake and in my case cakes that really get you down.  Sometimes it is hard to shake it off and try again. Please do not give up.  Your cakes are wonderful and it would be a shame for you to give up on the talent you have.

Holly, don't you DARE abandon cakes.  You are so much better than you obviously think.  We all struggle to achieve what we want and then think we're complete rubbish when it doesn't turn out the way we saw it in our minds eye.  I mean, sheesh, take a look at that rubbish beer bottle I did - good grief.

Oh!  You guys just blessed my socks off!  Thank you so very much for the compliments!  This is the cake that killed me.. well, let's just say the straw that broke the camels' back.  I always feel like each cake is it's own disaster, and this one I just threw everything (my tools) in the sink and said I was done, that I'd just concentrate on making toppers or just quit it all together.  Then.. there's the finish line when I have the blessing of people actually liking it.  Thanks for giving me hope, ladies!  Love and respect you all so much!

Holly, these are just wonderful - I love them.  I'm guessing one boy and one girl (eyelashes give it away!).
