I am so glad I am doing a practice run of my purse cake. I am following a video tutorial (using my own pattern), and that doesn't seem to be the problem. I used my chocolate cake recipe and have…Continue

I want everybody's thoughts on what their favorite fondant is and why. I have done Satin Ice, Duff, and I recently saw a video on utube which adds Wilton to MMF. Just want to hear some opinions. …Continue
Oh what a joy to come in to the office today and read all the exciting stuff that's been happening! Lotsa love to you June, hope you feeling better {0} and well done Melanie on the cupcake travel extravaganza! My goodness, we sure to know how to pack in the stress to do the thing we love so much :-) Sending you all happy wishes for the week ahead - I have my first ombre cake for the weekend (with rainbow inside) so wish me luck! As well as a stack of macarons, ombre style - made the first batch last night, not too bad but may perhaps have taken them out a minute too soon as they stuck to the bottom, but tonight when I do my next batch I will make sure they no longer have any movement before taking them out - may turn the oven temp a bit lower so they can maybe go a bit longer without the fear of them burning - wish me luck xox (any tips for macarons are welcome - am using the recipe that came from Louise on cake journal) :-)
Sounds like you have an exciting time coming up Mandy. Good luck wished to you as requested. I'm sure you'll nail it!
Best of luck with your cake Mandy. Make sure you post pics. :o)
Good luck Mandy - I'm sure it will be great! Have an ombre cake topper on a shower cake this week myself....will be thinking of you when working on mine and wishing you well!
Ladies wishing you a great baking & decorating week as I have nothing to do...(LOL) Well, that is not entirely true, lots to do but no cakes. Melanie, I want to see the millions cupcakes already! I had the same issue with the last cake, it was placed in front of a huge window with a very sunny day in Florida,,,I must have taken a hundred photos and none were any good-now I have to wait for the professional photos to come in...
Well Sandra - what are you going to do with yourself? Will you have to resort to housework and other such nonsense? I'm just doing a few toppers for some trick or treat cupcakes, just in case we get any on Wednesday. I think most of the kids are all grown up round here now, so we may not get any knocks on the door. In which case, we'll just have to eat the cupcakes ourselves - what a bummer (not).
jajaja Katy, yes all that nonsense is contemplated...plus 7 classes I signed up with Craftsy...
