I took some wilton classes, but the rest have been self taught. It's been quite a ride. I see now how much easier is to find information on cake decor, but when I started it was not like that. Forums like this are a big help for people starting!

I agree with Serious Cake, we should be proud of what we can do and not beat ourselves up over what we can't. Our individuality is what makes us special and not boring. As women we are harder on ourselves than anyone else is...it's only our own baseball bats (which we use on our accomplishments) that keep us from reaching our dreams. Hope we are all here as dreamers reaching for the highest star.

As having Serious cake a participating member. I'am equally honored to have Edna De la Cruz join our group. I'am big fans of both ladies because of there willingness to share their love for cake decorating. I value any input they offer and for those that are not familiar with Ms. De la Cruz and Serious Cakes please look them up on YouTube.

I guess I'm just the opposite of most of the people here. I am fairly comfortable with buttercream... I learned to make roses in a Foods class in High School. Gumpaste and fondant scare me, though. I even thought about taking a Wilton class just to make myself take the plunge, so to speak. I don't know why I have such a mental block, but I do...

Gumpaste is a lot of fun. Jennifer in my website there are tutorials and i show how to get started with gumpaste. Try the Calla lilies, they are the easiest!
Jhoanne I am so glad it helped!
