Hopeing someone is on here i have a ? doing a wedding cake for this Saturday. The humidity here is awful. And the Brides is useing real flowers. I wont stick the flowers in a cake unless they are organic  flowers these are not the bride picked up bought 1/2 inch wide picks that will hold  water in them . But here is my thinking they are about 3 inches long will this cause the cake to try and spead outward and crack my fondant as she wanted simple and there is no room to hide mistakes on this cake ty.

I made a cake with real roses in Jan. I thought I would use the cake pics but I didn't. I wrapped the stems in floral tape. In Canada we must wrap our flowers or have them in "something so no bacteria transfer. Does the venue have AC?? Mine did. Don't know where you are placing the flowers? You will find my rose cake on my page. After I pushed my flowers in, there was no spreading or cracking. If your fondant is solid & firm, you shouldn't have any trouble. Of course I did have some artificial greenery. Hope this helps

I've used white chocolate to seal some things that I've out in cakes...just an idea...?

For my rose cake (I believe there is a picture on my page) I used thin strips of plastic wrap, secured with tape for roses going around the tiers.  For the top I had a tall narrow glass which sat about 1/2 inch above the tier.  I cut a hole in the top tier and inserted the glass, putting the roses in the glass.  It worked well.
