I am so glad I am doing a practice run of my purse cake. I am following a video tutorial (using my own pattern), and that doesn't seem to be the problem. I used my chocolate cake recipe and have…Continue

I want everybody's thoughts on what their favorite fondant is and why. I have done Satin Ice, Duff, and I recently saw a video on utube which adds Wilton to MMF. Just want to hear some opinions. …Continue
Just had to share with people who would appreciate my uncontrollable excitement!! Had been having issues with my kitchen aid - which I was able to fix thanks to a you tube video! Then my husband and daughter surprised me yesterday with a brand spankin' new Kitchen Aid Professional 600 series mixer!! Woo hoo!! Two batches of MMF at one time is no problem for this 575 watt baby!! Thanks....I just had to let that out.
hahah Joann I can fully relate to that feeling of pure joy!!! enjoy your new toy!! :)))
Joann - let us know how it copes with dough - my regular kitchen aid nearly has a heart attack when I make gingerbread men
Joann - I completely understand the excitement, I get it every time I get a new bit of kit, however small!
Yesterday I almost had a heart attack...had to make a batch of strawberry flavored butter cream, just after the cake mixture and my Kenwood wouldn't work! After almost getting the seizure I saw that my son unplugged it to use the Snackwich maker! Phew w w!

I totally get how you feel. I am a real kitchen & gadget person. A good friend of mine laughs, cause she is SO not like that, and she thinks it is hillarious that I get so excited!! My gift to myself last year when I retired was a Bosch kitchen machine. Super powerful. Does 5-6 loaves of bread at one time. I don't have to do a 2nd rise because the machine has done ALL the kneading. I can do 3 batches of BC at one time. :o)
It's the little things in baking life that make us all happy :).
I know, simple pleasures...eh??
sigh! just happy for your big purchases... I just get excited for any kitchen gadget in a beautiful pink or a "new mold"...crazy about molds...
Oh Sandra, I get that. I have a whole load of kitchen stuff in purple. And have my eye on so much more ;)
I bought a second-hand Kenwood for £26 on ebay so it is worth keeping an eye for stuff on there. I'm awaiting a embossing mat at the momnet and have just got some Gerbera Daisy cutters for a wedding blessing cake I've got on next month. I love it! :D
