We also use the clean T-towel method - we could never get big enough strips and home-made ones don't stay in place.  We used to end up baking with extra batter and then cutting the dome part off to level the cake. Luckily we have enough kids to eat all the scraps :)

Yes Danielle, we have to remember that not everyone on this site has access to some of the stuff recommended here.  So sometimes a simple practical solution works!!!  Notice not too many Americans on today...busy watching Thanksgiving day  parades, & eatting turkey!!

We made a great thanksgiving cake for an American Diner here but otherwise nobody in Australia even knows it is Thanksgiving today.
