Hello everyone, I am new to decorating, but made my first wedding cake last week. It was in the preferred colors and design of the couple, and had real rose buds instead of icing or fondant flowers. It was a real challenge. I hope to learn from each of you, as I continue my self taught journey into decorating. Have a great evening everyone.

Hello to all,

I am a self taught cake decorator.  I started decorating cakes 20 years ago.  My first cake was a John Deere tractor and wagon full of hay for my son's 3rd birthday.  Still learning new things, afraid of some of it.  haha.

Hi every-one:)I have a question for yawl.  I usually use BK or DH for my cakes. When I went down stairs to check my stock, I thought I saw that I had chocolate cakes and didn't. So I had to go out in the snow storm to get more cake. Now, when I arrived at the store they had sold out on BK brands and only had 5 DH boxes. Now I needed about 10 boxes so I couldn't mix and match. So I opt to go for a house brand named select. Have any of you used one before. I'm nervous. the cake is due sunday. I have all my cakes baked. they just need to be filled and cc. should I go out in the morning and re bake the right kinds? keep in mind theres 6 cakes, 2 boxes in each...that's like another $35 I'm not willing to loose out on. what do you guys think?
