Question....Can you substitute butter for a vegetable oil when using a cake mix?
Comment by Christina on November 8, 2010 at 5:29pm
Yes, you can substitute butter for vegetable oil in a cake mix. It must be melted first then measured. It will give a little different texture. Unsweetened applesauce is also a good substitute for those watching fat intake.

I will be using an edible image on my next cake (new to me) and I was wondering if the dark fondant on the cake will bleed through the edible image and if it can, I was hoping I could get some hints from you all. The image will be placed on the side of the cake. Thanks so much.
