I had learned most of my stuff by just looking at Pictures in the Wilton year books and making them my own or by sketching out different ideas....

Hey guys! Have another ? for you guys!! What is the best way to make horseshoes? I have the molds, I could do white chocolate, then ?paint? or dust with silver? Or I could do gumpaste or fondant and paint or dust? I don't really have a clue which would be better, or anything about the painting or dusting! I know that's awful, but I am self taught, and have never tried this kind of thing before! Please help!! Oh, it will be frozen for a first anniversary cake, if that changes anything! I appreciate any advice!!

i use fondant so that's what i'd use to make the shape. let it dry and then paint it silver. its best to take it out and not be frozen along w/ the cake. it'll keep in a dry cool place put in a box.

I made horseshoes (in a mold) just with milk chocolate. It was for a shower cake, and that was their symbol they used for the wedding ('Lucky in Love'). Does it have to be silver? I have never painted or dusted chocolate, not sure how that would work. Can you tint the white chocolate silver when it's melted before putting into the mold?? Just tossing out ideas...not sure if that would even work.
