Hi, my name is Maria Mendoza, and I live in Brooklyn.  I am so happy that there is a group in NY.  I just started baking and decorating.  I love working with fondant and gumpaste, love doing figuers.  I live on Pennsylvania Ave, in East New York  Is anyone near me.

Melissa - I am upstate NY too, more like 2 hours+ from the Falls ... not far outside of Rochester.

To answer the question re' classes in NY, there will be a cupcake competition and show on September 17, 2011 in Beacon, NY.  Classes start on Friday at 4:30pm.  Great teachers and demonstrators.  For information, please visit the official website www.shavkin.com  Someone also was trying to contact Toba Garrett.  Please go to my site and email me from there, and I will give you the information.  I am not comfortable posting her email address in a public setting without her permission.

Hello! I'm Jessica. I used to live upstate in Rochester, NY but now live in Staten Island, NY. I've been decorating on and off for about a year now though I have done a one or two cakes in years before yay.

Hey Everyone!  I am new to the group, my name is Ck; owner/baker of a .com Specialty Cupcakery business by the name of The Cavity Shoppe "Where the fillings are Sweet" and I am self-taught with little training. I am new to the Group.
