I know and I'm thinking about it. There is a guy on youtube that shows you how to make them, but ... I'm trying to decide if the time involved in making one would be worth it or not. The jury is still out on that! I took up decorating 25 years ago as just a hobby ~ cakes for family & church. If I did anything professionally, I would definitely invest in some of these.

http://www.makeyourownmolds.com/ has the food grade supplies. I would love to make my own but looking into the expense... I just buy them!
Making molds it's very easy. Dominique it's the owner of making your own molds. It's basically 2 compounds that you mix together and then press on a piece you are trying to make. Dominique always is very helpful with explaining how to use it.
I'm actually going to one of his classes this weekend, so I'll share the experience when I come back.
Making your own is cheaper than buying them...
Have fun Theresa. He is a very sweet man.
The fun thing about making your own mold is that you don't have to be ruled by what they sell out there.
You can do what you need for a cake, and reuse it as many times as you need. And it will be something
that you wont find out there, it will be your own style..

So where do you get this stuff and how much does this cost to make them?
