Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Well im so excited but I just made my first batch of MM Fondant. It is resting now. I looked at all the different recipes and kinda tweeked them and made my own so we shall see how it turns out. Im am going to use it first on a cake im making tomorrow for my bff. She wont mind. Also Im making 3D turtles to go on her cake and these will be the only part of the cake covered in fondant. So the way I look at it is if it turns out not so good we can throw those away and eat the rest! =) Wish me luck that it turns out okay!

MM Fondant is all that I have ever used, I love it.  My recipe is 2 lbs powdered sugar, 1 lb minimarshmallows, 2 tbsp water, Crisco for greasing surface and hands, small bowl of water.  Melt the 2 tbsp water and marshmallows in microwave, dump 3/4 bag of sugar and stir a little.  Dump that out on a well greased surface, grease hands VERY WELL, add the rest of the sugar and keep kneading still a dough forms.  Add a little water if starts to tear easily.  I grease it up good, stick it in a airtight container and use it as I need it.  It is usually gone in a months time.  I have never had problems with it, but don't know how different it is from the store bought cause I have always used my own.
