HELP!!! Hot Pink Fondant color

Hi Stampinsher...I used the PINK (rose) from Wilton 12 icing colors too, but you see my result! :) So i'm not sure what happened...is it possible that i put too much?? But if you put a lot it just means your color gets darker..in this case like a dark/hot pink... no clue what happened!! :(

While yes it's true that more color will yeild a darker result, if your color is red (which is what the wilton pink is) you will get red and not the deep fuschia that you are going for. The color you are using has some yellow in it which is what is making your color go more towards a warm dark salmon color than a nice cool bright pink. You can try adding some blue to cool it down, but be careful since yellow and blue make green and green and red make grey, so adding blue might make it look really muddy. I suggest take pieces of the fondant and adding different things and see if it gets you closer to what you want without doing the whole batch. If the fondant is homemade, you could try adding some bright white to the mix since homemade fondants are void of color and commercial white fondants have titanium oxide in them so they aren't translucent. The bright white might help bring it closer to the pink you want.

Meera ~ I'm going to attach a picture of what I have. Now I'm thinking that it could have came in a Wilton Course kit. But you'll see what I mean . . . sorry it looks fuzzy.

Another vote for Americolor Electric Pink. I just did a Hello Kitty cake this past weekend with hot pink fondant and it turned out perfect.

PINK SATIN ICE.... It is the brightest pink you will ever find! No mixing no guessing and I'd bet it matches what you need. I used it on my daughters 30th birthday cake in my album if you want to see the color. Looks like just what you need. Not the new pastel colors... the original pink Satin Ice.

Hey ladies..

GOOD news...i went and got the Americolor Electric Pink, and IT WORKED!! yaaaaie....it was pretty close to the color i wanted!! Thank you so much ladies!!

Hope to post up my first fondant cake pic by tomorrow :D

All the Americolor kits are true to color try the other kits like Kit #! glad it worked

I just found a box of 12 AmeriColor Soft Gel Paste Food Color that I bought months ago! Now that is a good find:D Cannot wait to try them and I had purchased the Electric Color Kit: Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Pink, and Purple. I'm excited now ~ LOL

Use AmeriColor. It does a much better job with color matching. I could never get hot pink from Wilton either.
