Im a little confused.....you charge a different price per serving depending on how many tier you make?  I don't think I have ever heard of that before....I charge the same for all of my cakes whether its a birthday cake, shower cake or a wedding cake......for me, Butter creme cakes start at $3.50 per serving and fondant cakes start at $4.00 per serving...prices go up per serving depending on the cake, filling and decorations........ My friend owns a cake supply/bakery, I do some of her baking and some fondant work for her and in exchange she lets me bake and decorate all of my cakes there...I noticed that she was charging $2.50 per serving for a tiered birthday cake and $3.50 per serving for a wedding cake..I asked her...why...cake is cake.... and its a little confusing for clients to see different prices just because its a wedding cake.....

I actually dont think  your prices are to high...what are other bakers/bakerys charging in your area?

Wow, the cake on the picture is stunning!!  In South Africa, I would have charged R2,500.00 for that cake.  I don't know how much $800 is, so please help me with the difference in $ to South African Rand.  Thanks.

Esme, I just converted the US dollar to your currency.  Looks like 5416.24 Rands

Wow, that is a lot of money, but the cake on the photograph added here is awesome, I think you would really be able to get R5000,00 for it!!  Thank you so much for your reply!

Yes you are righ is a little confusing... I guest I'll be changing this method of information... and the prices in my area are more expensive...

I don't know how much is the real price in South Africa .. sorry... but yesterday I gave a budged for this cake in some place close to me and they give ... $$$$$ 1050.-

The cake is beautiful. I think your price is fair. I've seen higher prices, for much less cake.

I charge a straight $5.00 per serving on wedding cakes.

Well I gave a budget for this cake in some place close to me... and they told me the cost by slice $ 4.25 plus $150 for the flower.....
