Recipe for dark chocolate cake w/banana cream icing??

Hi all!

I friend of mine's favorite cake is a dark chocolate cake with a banana
cream icing. She has since lost contact w/that friend of hers since
they went their separate ways after college and has never been able to
find the cake since. I'd love to be able to re-create this cake or
something as close to it as possible. She says the cake was a heavier
cake and that the banana cream icing was very light. Does anyone have
any recipe like this? She tells me her friend said it was a family
recipe which may explain why she's never found it again! Just so you
know, I am a scratch baker and I am willing to experiment. I appreciate
any suggestions!!

Thanks!

Stacy

When you find this recipe, I would really like to have it as well. I will check around myself. A lot of "family recipes" are tweaked from an original recipe in print. This will be fun!
Try the Scott Clark Woolley "fudge brownie cake" - it's dark, dense (although not as dense as a brownie...that's just its name!) and delicious! That is my all time favorite chocolate cake; I've never found one more chocolatey.

Can't help you on the banana cream though...hopefully someone else has a good one!
The fudge brownie cake sounds fantastic. Couldn't you flavor your favorite buttercream recipe with banana extract or oil to get the banana cream effect?
