Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I sometimes find decorating equipment quite hard to find so I wondered where everyone else get their supplies.

I get most of mine from A Piece of Cake and cake-stuff.com but am always on the look out for new places to try

Hi Lily I normally shop at Squires Kitchen online, but I've just looked at A piece of cake and it;s alot cheaper........ thank you
Try sugarshack too, you can get some bargins there :-)
I'm stuck to design-a-cake.co.uk at the moment, they have a range of stuff and they are adding new lines of stock all the time.

I've tried cake stuff before and although relatively cheap they don't tend price for bulk buying of fondant.

Sugarshack are good, fast delivery and friendly service.

I'm forever trying new suppliers!
Have had a peek at both of those and can't wait to try them out! We're moving at the end of the month tho so it'll be a little while before I have the time to play again
Good luck with the move Lilly! We just moved house on 1 March. I am sitting here surrounded by boxes. I've only made one cake and it was for my daughter's birthday. I am really quite ashamed of it as it was truly "thrown together"... it was the first time using the new oven.

Thank you! I know what you mean, it always takes a while to get used to new ovens but for the first time I'm actually looking forward to it - the oven here is an ancient gas one and I hate it! I haven't cooked anything for a year that wasn't overcooked on the bottom

I tend to use ebay a lot, but I always keep an eye on the kitchenware section of the local Poundland and 99p stores, as I have found some great stuff in there.  The best buy is in the 99p store which stocks packs of round and rectangular tin liners.  I have seen these advertised in cookware shops such as Lakeland for up to £7 a pack!

I have used the Craft Company quite a bit.  I'm beginning to find others that are cheaper, but not always.  Plus, Craft Company have a Facebook page and often have a 'Free Delivery' promotion code day- it seems to usually be on a Friday.  Depends on what you want, but for colours and icings they seem to have quite a good range.

Hi I'm new to this website but I opened a shop in May of this year, I have been making and decorating cakes for over 20 years. This isn't a sales pitch although that would obviously be good but if you have 5 minutes to check out my site and give me some feedback that would be fabulous, Thanks and happy creating  xXx
