Corpse Bride figures
Does anyone know of a supplier who stocks the corpse bride figures? Do people just use the action figures or are there figures specifically for cakes? I have a a goth bride and groom who are into all things dark and have seen the cake of their dreams on the the Pink Cake Box website. I live over 400kms away from the nearest city or cake decorating supplies stockist so have to source my supplies online. I have yet to find someone who stocks this item here - I am sure there are some, I'm just not putting the right combination of search words into Google to find them... apparently.
The figurines sell for $US69 - $US169 EACH! That seems a bit too much just for a cake topper.
I know I could make one, but with our summer coming up (they're getting married in November) the thought of trying to get figures to dry and not sweat in the humidity gives me the heeby jeebies.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My daughter collects these..as I understand they are on series 5, so anything before that is a collectors piece and the sellers are milking it... there is a store called "Five Below" check them. They sometimes have the characters for 5.00...if your lucky to catch it...people go there, buy them for 5.00 then resell for 60.00 and up....

I guess I am naive about how this works, but wouldn' you simply be able to tell the couple that the cost for the figurines is X (i.e., pass the cost onto them) and see if they still want it?

Absolutely, but I have to find them first. I am after the mini figures rather than the taller ones. The mini figures are 3" tall. Everywhere I have looked on the internet they're sold out so the action figures are very popular I was just hoping that there was a company out there actually making cake toppers....sigh it's not looking good

Betinna... you are such a good sculpter... could you make them??? I am not into the corpse bride thing so I have no help on where to get them but I am sure with your talent you could make them!!!

Aw thanks Jerri. It looks like that's what I'm going to have to do. I emailed the Pink Cake Box, and they said that the figures they have used have been brought in by clients; as I haven't been able to find any mini figures for sale, I'll just have to suck it up and make them. I don't mind doing it, I was just looking for a short cut. LOL

Well I couldn't find the figures so I had to make them. I had to do the heads three times before I was happy with it! I made them from cold porcelain - a cooked dough made from PVA glue, cornflour, white hand cream and glycerin - it air dries hard and can be kept indefinitely once sealed.
the bride was ecstatic and the groom just kept on coming back and looking at it and grinning.
