Does anyone use a Cuisinart Mixer?  Do you like it better than KitchenAid.  I have a KitchenAid Artisan but after only 4 years of making buttercream the motor stopped (guess I assumed it would last forever).  I thought about getting a Pro 600 Series but now I'm hesitant to buy another KitchenAid.

I have the Cuisinart 5.5qt model. I love it. Can't compare it to the KA because I upgraded from a Sunbeam and have never had a KA. I did a ton of research before purchasing my mixer. I found that those who had switched from a KA to Cuisinart would not go back.

That being said, both brands are good, however, I think the days of mixers lasting for 30 years are gone no matter what brand you purchase.

Good luck.
I have a Kitchen Aid but mine is about 35 years old...they really dont make them like they used to...I was looking at the Cuisinart..nice machine! I was thinking about the 7 qt Viking though.....
I had a Kitchenaid for 20 years great mixer. Decided to get another larger mixer because not all speeds worked on my Kitchenaid. Tried two Pro line series and took them both back. After much research I purchased a Cuisinart 7 quart.
Love it!!!!
I found the Kitchenaid to be very loud and it does not mix at the bottom of the bowl. They have sold their company to another company and they use plastic moving parts, hence the noise and once they break after about a year (read on many forum entries) there goes your $300 +.
The Cuisinart has a fold button, a timer, a guard, easy drop down lever so you can easily add ingredients and mixes at the bottom of the bowl. I'm very happy with it.

Suggest you get one try it and if not happy with it return it. Much too important appliance for us Bakers not to be happy with the mixer we use. Plus for the $$$$ be sure you like it.

Wow! That is amazing that your KitchenAid is 35. I was so upset about mine only lasting 4 years. I checked KitchenAid, Cuisinart, Viking, Hobart, Globe . . . I decided to order the Cuisinart. I think I got a good price on it ($349 total) and it will be here Tuesday. I'm getting Christmas early this year. Just received my Agbay cake leveler last week and love it!!! Should have bought it years ago.
If you decide on the Cuisinart be sure to watch Amazon. I found they go on sale every few weeks and they are the best prices.

Scarlet - you are going to love it! Just wait until you make buttercream using the shield. No more sugar clouds!
