Welcome Jackie! This forum most certainly does accept hobby bakers - most of us are. There are many professionals too, but a lot of us (that probably spend most time here) are just the same as you. Baking for friends and family (with the occasional commissioned one here and there). We've baked for years, but, for one reason or another (often retirement haha) have got more interested in the decorating side and are excited by it. You will find lots of encouragement, help and support here.

That is great to hear, I was on another forum, which I will not name, and any time I posted anything, the feedback never had anything to do with my work, but only the fact that I am a hobby baker stealing their work. I do not charge for my cakes, only reimbursement for ingredients IF I had to get something special. Anyway, I am glad to hear that I finally found a good place to learn.

As Katy & Gail have stated, you came to the right place. A ton of hobby bakers here, including me. I also have baked since I was young. Your 1st cake fondant cake was lovely. I also think I know which cake site you speak of. I am also on it, although not much, but must admit, never encountered any hostility. But I just post pics, never engaged in any discussions/forums. I have never found anything but acceptance, help & friendships here on CWB. And that was as soon as I joined.
