I've been wondering if those flavor packets would be good to add to homemade frosting. I don't care for bubble gum but some of the other flavors sound interesting.

I have got to get me a Duncan Hines mix!  So expensive over here though.

We have Duncan Hines here in Canada where  I live, but can't honestly say I have ever seen a "flavor packet". But then again, never really looked. Could be just in the States.

I've purchased the caramel and used a little dissolved in water to flavor MMF.  It tasted pretty good.  June, here they are next to the frosting cans because they are supposed to be used to flavor the frosting.

Not fair!

Well Goreti

Since I make my own icing, I haven't been down that isle of the grocery store for some time. I have a very large grocery store just about 5 min away. I need to pop in today, so think I will take a look see. You know, I buy concentrated flavorings from a decorator supply shop, but they are pricey. If they are not here,  I was thinking of making a run over to the States for some christmas shopping. I could go to the grocery store and stock up.  :o)

Thanks Goreti

lol - just pop over to the States for some Xmas shopping!  Shall I do that?  Let me think - oh wait, no that might cost me more than 1,000 cakes.................

Ha Ha...... Katy

I very rarely go over to USA now. When my son was in school their, ya we went a lot.  It is only 45 min away, but honestly, they have the same stuff we have here. Of course, there are the minor exceptions, like the grocery items. My sis-in-lw is OBSESSED with shopping their.  She was just their yesterday. Her & hubby go every 8-12 wks to grocery shop. And they go to Myrtle Beach every year for Feb/March. They are taking a cruise this spring, couldn't afford both, so they went for a week instead....same week as Sandy hit..... 55-68 degress only...and rain, rain, rain for a whole week.  With the lousy weather, she probably shopped her guts out at Walmart!!!!  hee hee..... :o)

I found them by accident.  I don't think I have ever bought canned icing.  I usually go food shopping on Monday and they are usually restocking the shelves where I go.  That aisle was very crowded as a result and I needed to buy flour so I to "pull over"  in order for someone to go by and it was right next to them.  I'm not too crazy about artificial flavors but figured what the heck and bought one.

Forgot to say that I did make my own frosting. The can frosting taste bad and very expensive compared to making your own..Ya and by the way 1/2 The kids did not like the bubble gum flavor. I will try other one..You can buy them for $1.00 each and sometimes 2 for $1.00...
