Fun, simple design. All flowers completely edible - no gumpaste, just fondant. Topper is store-bought and ribbon is actual ribbon. For a Feb. 14 wedding.

Since they are all fondant, the small flowers are just attached using a small amount of water. I waited to attach the magnolias until I set up the cake at the venue. I used royal icing to attach them. I try not to build my flowers on wires if I can avoid it. I like for all my flowers to be not only edible (cake safe), but EAT-able, meaning they taste good and are palatable!
Maybe I'll throw together a quick video on how I made the magnolias. :)
I have those cutters. I'm new to gumpaste flowers. How did you attach them to the cake? Are they on wire?
I think one of those three petal cutters is for the orchid..at least one is in that group. Lovely magnolias!!
Cat - the cutters were all in the Wilton Gumpaste Flowers kit. For the magnolias outer petals I used what they call the Tulip cutter, only I cut the fondant out thicker then thinned it into the right shape with a ball tool. For the inner, thinner petals, I used another cutter that was in there (can't remember what they call it - it's the other 3-petal cutter). The middles I made by making a fondant cone, then used a #5 tip to make the dents and dusted it with yellow and gold petal dust.
The small flowers are the middle sized 5-petal cutter in the same kit.
