Ah thanks Gail.  These were really fun to do, just spent a couple of days before I baked them playing around with fondant to see what I could make freehand.  I was pleased with the broomsticks and hats.  Made sure I left everything to dry really well before using them as they were all fondant - and it worked!  Amazing for me lol!

Unbelievable - there are some very warped minds out there.

George and I were just talking this morning about how even back when we were kids (back in the late 50s-early 60s) people were becoming scared out of receiving home baked foods. I lived in Ohio during my early years as a child, and at that time, parents were finding razor blades embedded into oranges and apples, and also popcorn balls. What must people be thinking of?? My folks would never let us keep anything questionable and would go through our treat bags with a fine tooth comb.

I didn't have children "choose" my cupcakes Linda. Around here it has been well embeded that you DON"T except home baking as treats. Anything like that will be thrown away.  Came from a scare years ago with pins & other ugly things "planted" in homemade treats. There was a report on the early news this morn, a razor blade found in some treat in a city not too far from me.  Of course, these are isolated incidents.... but.....   I wrapped my cupcakes and gave them directly to the parents of the 9 children who I know. There were 2 leftover.... hid them from my son.... hee hee.  When all was over, Steve & I had them.....  yum yum..... they were tasty.  :o)

Thanks all for the compliments, I really did have fun making these.  Had some left (goodie!) and Mick and I had one between us last night.  Then we had another - totally scrummy.  Mick said he could have eaten another one, but they were very rich.

You do indeed have a point Linda.  I bought some cellophane and cut it into large squares.  Then when they had chosen their cake, I wrapped it up and had a large twist of cellophane at the top for a bit of protection.  I somehow doubt they made it home looking as neat as when it left, but at least it would be a mess all in one place lol!
