Box of Thornton's chocs for my eldest grandson's 24th birthday. Devils food cake with caramel and cappuchino butter icing. Covered in dark and white chocolate fondant. I photoshopped the lid design of a box of Thornton's Continental for the edible image printed by Tonkerbelle's EdiblePrints. The lid is bitter chocolate rice krispie treats and is removable to reveal Happy Birthday in Thornton's truffle chocolates. Yes, he loves his chocolate!

Goreti, you're right. I do seem to have come a long way just recently. I think it's because I have started to believe in myself, that I can do it. I don't get scared by the idea now, just think - try it woman!
As for the lid - yes, completely edible. I made rkt but added chocolate and a little syrup to make it really tasty. Then coated it all over with a thin layer of royal icing to smooth it out and give it a bit more strength. Then covered it in chocolate fondant and then the edible icing image on top of that. The red bow is also fondant. He was surprised to learn he could eat that too and broke it open to have a look! The lid actually took as long to make as the cake itself!
Bonnie - the board is edible in a way. It's a standard cake card but covered in marbled dark and white chocolate fondant to give the impression of the box emerging from a vat of melted chocolate.
Yummy cake, just by looking at it!!! Is the top edible?
That top was a smart idea! Bet he didn't know he could take/lift it off! And that is one yummy looking cake board. Not edible I suppose?
wow ,, awesome Katy ,love love it
Fabulous, Katy! I am stumped for words! Not only beautiful, but clever and delicious! Great job!
