I recently discovered that I really love modeling figures, more than making flowers etc., but I like making them too.
I have now uploaded the cake these figures were made for. In my next "project" I will try to model some gnomes, for the birthday of my 2 year old grand daughter. I think it will be difficult but I'll certainly try hard.

To make my fondant shiny I either rub on a small amount of vegetable shortening or lightly steam the items.
I know there is also a commercial product you can paint on but I have not tried that, I usually prefer "home remedies".
