Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

16th birthday cake for my niece, bottom tier chocolate mud cake w/cannoli filling, middle vanilla cake with cookies & cream filling, top cinnamon swirl w/cinnamon apple filling, covered in SMBC & MMF--really need to stop trying different recipes for mmf fondant--this one had a very weird texture

By the way Gail, I did make my own cannoli filling and just added this & that until I was happy with the flavor.

Thanks everyone.  Yes I was very busy this week.  Katy that band around is actually a Wilton mold but then I had painted but on each tier I hand painted a different area so that it looks just slightly different. As far as the color, I actually mixed blue, red, and a little burgundy until I got the shade I wanted.  Did the same with the petal dust on the flowers cause I didn't like the Wilton purple. It was uuuugly.  Was pretty happy with result.  Of course, there are things I would have done differently now. lol

I also love purple Goreti. I never think to use it tho in icing or fondant. I always think it looks regal, elegant.
