Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Mike requested a Pineapple Upside Down Cake. I didn't have any slices, so used tidbits. Not as pretty, but just as tasty. Baked in a cast iron skillet.

Wow, Betty, you about have all the cast iron pieces, don't you?! Another life-long love, besides making cakes, is baking homemade bread. I have a sour dough starter that we have had in our family for at least 35 years.

I have so many cast iron "things". 10" tube pan, dutch oven with lid, a 5",8",2-10" a flat skillet pan I cook pancakes in, 2-corn stick pans, a divided wedge corn bread pan. All well seasoned. Gali, your red stew & rolls sounds yummy. Love homemade bread.

Thank you, Mai and Gali!  Blame it on Betty.  She started it by posting hers!

Gali, my doctor told me many, many years ago that if you ate an egg scrambled in an iron skillet every morning, it would provide your daily requirement of iron.  I have used mine (I have 6 in assorted sized, plus muffin and corn stick pans) for every meal since.

LOL, Betty, you exactly right.  Used the 10".  Mike and I both use them every time we cook.  I have two of the 10", the ones we most commonly use.  They were my mom's and when we all grew up and left home, she gave them to me.  We were discussing a while ago, she had them about 20 to 25 years, I've had them for 40 something.  Think that makes them mine :o)
