I want to use this as a separator for the Scarlet Macaw cake. I do not know if I will be heavily penalized for not covering it with fondant. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I think Bonnie may have something there !!!
Sandra, I went to The Great American Cake Show last year near Baltimore with my Wilton instructor, and she said that a certain cake would have won if it didn't have the real feathers. I told her that they were rice paper, and not real. She said, 'Then this is the winner', and she was right. So it may not disqualify you, but it won't do you any good. Why not just cover it in the exact same colors & patterns? You know you can do it! A win-win.
Gosh, I don't know Sandra. It's beautiful. What are the rules, do they state that everything has to be covered or edible material??
Not that it matters all that much because I am going to use it anyway. Just hate to have my knuckles rapped on my first outing :o)
? I really don't know Sandra !maybe 1 of our friends can tell you !
Gali, Betty, Bonnie - what do you think ladies? Will I get in trouble for using this as a cake separator on my fair entry?
Don't know what it is. My sister and I found it at Goodwill and I thought it would look good on the Central America themed cake because it looks like mosaic. I know nothing about cake competitions. Do you think I will be penalized for not covering it with fondant?
OH THATS BEAUTIFUL !!!
