snowboarding cake

Since I have been experiencing should pain due to tendonitis, I was not planning on making a birthday cake for my daughter. Decided to give it a try at the last minute. Only did the figure last night. She loves to snowboard so this is what I decided to do after seeing a cake by Small Things Iced. Cake is chocolate mud cake, blackberry filling covered in chocolate ganache and MMF fondant. Didn't cover the board since she is having a New Year's eve party with gold & silver decorations.

Comment by Goreti on December 30, 2013 at 3:45pm: Thanks Betty & Gail. Betty, I have a very difficult time with the face. Can't do a realistic face no matter how hard I try. This was done using the instructions from Carlos Lischetti's book as far as the face goes. Can't tell you how many times I had to start over on the face before I finally gave up and did it this way (or the words I used for that matter).
