Since I have been experiencing should pain due to tendonitis, I was not planning on making a birthday cake for my daughter. Decided to give it a try at the last minute. Only did the figure last night. She loves to snowboard so this is what I decided to do after seeing a cake by Small Things Iced. Cake is chocolate mud cake, blackberry filling covered in chocolate ganache and MMF fondant. Didn't cover the board since she is having a New Year's eve party with gold & silver decorations.

Goreti, I know exactly what you are talking about with the face! Had the same problem with the 80th cake I did. I gave up completely. These people that do them well make it look so easy don't they?
she is so pretty
Thanks Betty & Gail. Betty, I have a very difficult time with the face. Can't do a realistic face no matter how hard I try. This was done using the instructions from Carlos Lischetti's book as far as the face goes. Can't tell you how many times I had to start over on the face before I finally gave up and did it this way (or the words I used for that matter).
awesome job , love this , she is beautiful ! wow
So very cute. Wish I could do figures like you. :(
Thanks Katy. My shoulder is bothering me a little bit right now but nothing I tolerate. I'm really happy with how it turned out so it was worth it. Can't wait to see her face. She is not expecting this at all.
Goreti - it's amazing! Well done you - hope you haven't done yourself any damage though. She's so cute.........
