My first attempt and making a gumpaste shoe. All in all, quite happy with the result. The heel is not good, but I know better for next time.

Did I already say I love this?!?!?! Wow - that's amazing! Great job :)
Thank you Janice. Trust me, you can do it.
Thanks a lot Holly! Honestly it is not as hard as you might think. I can be very clumsy and 'ham-fisted', so I was nervous about giving it a go. My granddaughter was having her 12th birthday and she has got so grown up and fashion conscious, that I wanted to do something more mature for her than her usual. So I gave myself plenty of time for it to go wrong and have to do it again and lots of time for it to dry really hard, so it didn't break as soon as it was touched. And it worked!! I made a triangular shaped support out of polystyrene which I covered in cling film. Cut the sole, inner sole, back and front from a template. Used edible glue to stick it together. Did the stiletto freehand, and it wasn't great, but not too bad. Laid the sole over the support and cut the stiletto till it was the right height. Glued it all together. Stitching wheel for the stitching effect. Decoration on the front is from a mould I made from a pendant and then sugar pearls stuck into it to make it look like a brooch. Made a tiny little bow for the back of the heel and another sugar pearl in that to cover the join. Give it a go, it really is quite satisfying!
Whoa, Katy! VERY nice! I've been looking for an excuse to do a sugar shoe. What words of wisdom do you have for us who've not taken the plunge? This one is so clean and pretty!!!
Wow June - I'm honoured to be pinned, thank you.
Thank you very much Inoka!
