Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

For the first time, I decided to make a birthday cake for myself. Let's just say it was not my biggest success. Kitchen was way to warm. Not a good idea to try the upside method of trimming the fondant to get a crisp top & neat bottom. I made a real mess of it and had to work so hard to get it to look decent. Not the best work but it is what it is.

Thanks guys.  My sister was supposed to have a cookout yesterday for the 4th, hence the colors.  Unfortunately tropical storm Arthur decided to pay us a visit.  Cookout was postponed until today.  So we will be cutting it later on today.

No Katy, look at those stripes.  Very messy but this was a great improvement.  You should have seen the darn thing after I turned it upside down.  I just wanted to throw it in the trash.  Very disappointed with this one.  It better taste good.  It is Rumchata cake filled with caramelized apples.

Here she goes again - knocking herself.  It's adorable Goreti and she even looks like you!  Love it. xx
