thanks for the lovely comments gail. I used burgundy flour paste which always dries to a peculiar grey mauve colour so I overdust with burgundy powder colour and then overdust the rose centres with a little black to make the centres a deeper colour, then steam so that the colour doesn't drop on the cake (i learnt that one the hard way after my 1st burgundy flowers lol)
i can laugh about it now but I had spoken to the grooms mother about delivery not an hour before and was assured that someone would be there, I was just about ready to kill by then lol.

OMG..... stress city!!!! I always call a week or two ahead, cause I am anal.... and talk to someone in charge. Let them know I am the "cake lady"... hee hee, and ask about when I can come in to set up, where to set up.... blah, blah. Get directions if I have to, all that sort of stuff. Always feel better when I do that. Don't like the "unknown"!!! :o)
not as yet June but hopefully someone will have taken one that i can borrow, it was all a little mad yuesterday got to the hall to deliver the cake and found it locked aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!! took us an hour to find a keyholder so only just got out before the wedding party arrived.
