For my cookie on the left:
Some would say that though the glaze was faster, the RI would have shown more detail. Guess I will never know, because, in order to get better detail, you have to let it set up & harden, at least a little, between applications, which I, again, did not do... And I was using the glaze. lol I did the grid with a black food marker. BIG mistake. You could see it through the pink, so I proceeded to cover that with a green outline, again, not waiting for anything to dry. But, you know, if you stand back, just a little way, it looks OK! lol
My cookie on the right:
This is the beginning of the ruffle effect. I HAVE to wait for this to set up & dry some, or the next layer will just flatten it! So this is a work in progress, & you can see it later. ha ha
It is drying so slowly, driving me up the wall!
Guess I could blame it on the weather. It is hot & muggy, and you can just feel the water in the air. Rarely have I seen any sunshine today. The temp is 10 degrees better than yesterday, but the humidity is way worse.
I had to stay home today anyway, waiting for the pool guy to come & replace one of the interior lights on the inside of the pool.

Yes they could, but the ruffles are just as pretty in fondant and you nailed it!

Why thank you!!  Perfection is not my goal, I just want them to look nice.  Now Betty, or Cheryl Kier could do it in Buttercream!

Bonnie, I thought the ruffle was buttercream, as well, and I thought it was the best darned bc ruffle I had ever seen!  It may be the best fondant/gum paste ruffle I've ever seen.  How did you get them so perfect?  These cookies are gorgeous!

Morning Gail, These are both done using fondant/gumpaste.  I knew you were just kidding if you thought I could do something like this in buttercream.  You were pulling my leg, weren't you??? lol

Don't hold your breath, or anything, but I still have 2 cookies left to decorate!

Well, I finished my ruffle cookies.  The 1st. is a ruffled blouse/shirt front.

The 2nd. is just all ruffles, with gold luster dust applied.  7 ruffles in all.
