4-25-13', The 'Eyes' Have It
I started making eyes for the dolls for the cakes. Just planning ahead again! Didn't even have any dolls yet.lol I have been messing around with making faces, and the fact that you haven't seen them yet must tell you something about how THAT project is coming along! lol They are gumpaste, with food coloring for the green & black, coated with piping gel for the shiny glassy look. I ended up using most of them at Halloween, dunked in a reddish mess that they had to reach into to get them out, then they weren't sure they wanted to eat them after all! lol Quite effective though, went along with my witches vat.

Thanks! I need to make more before Halloween, they cleaned me out last year, I only have a few left. The local kids will all help with that! lol

These are scary good, Bonnie! For some reason, I never thought of piping gel and couldn't imagine how you made them look like real eyes. I can understand the kid's dilemma - I would be half afraid to eat them, too! Oh, yeah....I DO like :o)
