A 3 layer Twins Baby Shower Cake.
Half of this cake has a bottom layer of strawberry cake, covered with vanilla BC, with a layer of sliced strawberries, the middle layer is yellow butter cake, another layer of BC & sliced strawberries, then topped with more strawberry cake.
The other half of the cake has a bottom layer of dark chocolate cake, again covered with vanilla BC, with a layer of sliced strawberries, the middle layer is yellow butter cake, another layer of BC & sliced strawberries, then topped with a final layer of the oh so moist dark chocolate cake! A coating of the vanilla crusting BC over all, then a thin blanket of vanilla almond MMF.
In keeping with the camouflage theme of the shower, each side of the cake was draped/covered with a thin irregular layer of skirting using the camouflage MMF that matched the 'feet'. This can be easily removed prior to cutting the cake. The lettering on the boy's side was done using my GummyGel recipe, flavored in orange. And on the girl's side, we have a pink&white camo banner, with white MMF lettering, and the pink Mary Janes. Another fun outing!

Thanks Wendy, it was definitely that! I did not get to bring any home with me, and of course I forgot to take any pics after the thing was cut!
Thanks June, and I am thinking how to do it without the set, but will give it a try soon, promise! Everyone there were taking pics, so I assume it was a hit! lol Except the spoiled mom to be, I do believe her lips would bleed were she to crack a smile, or say 'thank you Aunt Bonnie'. The dark chocolate was OHHHH so good! Even had chocolate chips in it, to go with the strawberries of course! lol
sounds so yummy, I would have loved to see a "cut" piece.
No, you are not off the hook yet Bonnie. Now you graduate to big girl shoes. lol
They aren't heels, so do they still count????
Thought I was the only one on the planet that hadn't!
OH! I just realized that 'I MADE A PAIR OF SHOES!!' Whooppeee!
A great big thanks to you both! I wanted to do it in just BC, but it just would not crust properly, and it was pretty hot here, so on went the fondant that morning, so I could put on the desired decorations.
Very clever Bonnie and sooooo cute. Sounds yummy too. Love the shoes..:))
