These are for my niece's daughter's baby shower cake, expecting twins this year. The camouflage feet are for the boy,and made with fondant, using light pink, blue, gray, brown, and green. The pink Mary Janes are for the girl, made of gumpaste, and painted with light pink petal dust mixed with vodka. I just cut them out, no pattern used.

Thanks guys! Cutting out, and putting together, the shoes was actually very easy. I cut out the shape I needed for the sole, then held pieces of fondant up against, or around, the sole as needed to get the shape I was after, then cut them to fit. And I think it was Goreti that said one must support the strap or it would hang too low, and it worked very well. Tell the truth guys, didn't you all have a pair with little holes across the top, when you were wee little tykes? Mine were patent leather black in winter, and white in summer! Worn with white socks of course. {:o))
those shoes are adorable! And no pattern?? Your good! lol, I particularly like how you cut out the design in front of the shoe, never thought of that. You did a great job incorporating the boy/girl design.
I went through a lot of pics on some sites, and got these ideas from them, just changed them up a little. This will be the only time I use them, and the cake was a freebie after all. I watched a video on making the Mary Janes, then I just free handedly cut them out, & it worked. Got the quote from a Cake done in black with chalk writing. As for the feet, I just added the 'born' to their quote. These gals really know what they are doing! And I get so many wonderful ideas from them.
Bonnie, what a brilliant idea using the camouflage fee for the boy and the Mary Janes for the girl! Both are so cute (especially those adorable little shoes! Love, love!
Thank you!
so cute
