Game of Thrones Side
'Quickish' themed birthday cake for my eldest grandson. One of his favourite books/TV programmes is Game of Thrones (mine too!). The top is the sigil (a grey direwolf) and motto of the Stark family, who are Kings of the North and live at Winterfell, just south of 'The Wall', guarded by the Nights Watch. The board is adorned with the mottos of other main families in the series and well known sayings from the story.
Bottom tier Devils Food with chocolate buttercream, covered in chocolate fondant, top tier red velvet and cream cheese frosting, covered in white chocolate fondant.

Thank you Gail. Yes, Winter I'm afraid - yuck. In this story Winter only comes every several years, but when it does, it comes with a vengeance, lasts for years and brings all sorts of other nasties with it!

The idea is for it to be free standing, with just one support on one side. If it doesn't work, I'll lean it up against the wall, lol! Going to try it in a minute............

I have stuck on banners etc. slightly damp. As long as your careful, it will be fine. :o)

Thanks June! Mick said - what, no Happy Birthday! So I had to make a quick banner to stick in the back of it and am waiting for it to dry now, hoping it's stiff enough to put on the for the party tonight!
