Thank you sweet Bonnie :*
That is almost the way we do people on pumpkins, but in reverse!! How about that, never even thought to try it on a cake though! lol And I definitely knew it was 'YOU' the moment I saw it! You are way talented lady!
You're most welcome dears :* Glad to finally be of value to this group! LOL
very creative! Love it, I have to try this sometime, been thinking about how to do something like this, thanks for sharing!
Yes, thank you very much for explaining the technique, Mai. I love it! The extra cocoa sort of gives it an antique look and is very effective, I think.
that's a really neat idea Mai, thanks for sharing
Thank you ladies for your kind comments... It was actually quite easy in the "making" phase. All I had to prepare is a photo on the computer, turned that into black & white and increased contrast, then I printed it. Using a cutter, I removed all the black areas, it now became a stencil on which I've powdered some cocoa powder. My mistake that I'd be avoiding next time is not to over-powder it. I was warned on the net (where I got the idea from) not to use too much powder, yet I didn't feel I did till I was removing the paper; that's why it's sort of a mess to my eyes, but everyone else loved it :)
This is a perfect likeness, Mai....of you, I mean. Don't know your husband, but he is very nice looking! You must share how you did the portraits. I've never seen anything life it. Happy anniversary!
hey that's clever! Happy Anniversary
